Email migration

From Webpipe Wiki

How to Migrate an E-Mail domain to Webpipe

To add a domain to your account, just send an request to support@webpipe.net and request that the domain be added to our DNS and mail servers. If you include a password, we'll use that password for your e-mail administration, otherwise we'll make up a random password that you can change.

After we add the domain to our email servers, you'll have access to configure email addresses, forwards, etc via a web-based interface at http://qmail2.webpipe.net/ At this point you can start checking your email on this server.

Once you have all of the email addresses set-up, then change the MX record for the domain to point to filter.webpipe.net. An MX change may take up to 72 hours to propagate throughout the Internet, so you client will continue to get mail to the old server for some period of time. We recommend that you set up both accounts in outlook (leave the current one, and add a Webpipe account). You can continue to check their mail in both places until the DNS change is effective across the entire Internet. Then, it's safe to remove the old account.
